A story of personal growth and leadership transformation. Nanci talks about her journey of building an agile organization and reshaping teams, workflows, and leadership. She shares the method and approach she took to grow, learn, and lean in. Along the way she found out just how hard changing culture can be, but realized that it can be done. She will share her learnings as well as observations on colleagues who grew and transformed as a part of this effort.

Nanci Taylor | Vice President, Accelerate Agile @ IBM[edit | edit source]

Nanci Taylor has twenty years of experience in the Information Technology industry as a transformational change leader with a wide variety of experiences including agile organizational design and implementation, business transformation, service delivery, technical support, services development, sales, and marketing.

Currently, Nanci is Vice President, Agile Accelerate for the Office of the CIO. In this capacity, she is helping to transform IBM’s total workforce to new ways of working by applying an agile framework and methodology to organizations and workload models.

Prior to this role, Nanci led the strategic design of the first operational unit in IBM to move to an agile operating model. This was a 10,000-person business unit focused on providing quote to cash services globally to IBM sellers and business partners. Design included: financial framework, organizational structure, levels, roles, operating model, risk and compliance, training, communications and an implementation roadmap.

Previous leadership positions included; Vice President, Strategic Partnerships and Value Driven Proposals. In this capacity, she acted as the global leader representing Transformation and Operations on the Apple IBM partnership leadership council as well as exploring new IBM partnerships to assess the services to be provided by the Sales Transaction Support delivery team. Additionally, she created a small 400 person “start- up” team of proposal professionals across the globe tasked with helping IBM sellers deliver compelling and personalized proposals to IBM clients.

Nanci also served as Vice President, Sales Transaction Support Integration, responsible for leading the integration of a newly formed organization consisting of pre-sales through cash collection with over 12,000 employees worldwide. Prior to that, she was the Vice President, Sales Transaction Hub, World-Wide Centers, responsible for global center strategy and a team of 1,800 execution employees. Prior to her tenure in Sales Transaction Hub, Nanci served as Director, IBM Global Technology Services, Business Transformation. Other roles in IBM included a variety of leadership positions in Sales, Marketing, Operations, Service Development, and Software Technical Support.

Ms. Taylor started her career in the industry with a U.S. regional reseller playing key transformational roles in the areas of procurement, inventory management, distribution, customer service and telesales.
